As of December 2024, the company operates from 46 locations across 22 countries and regions worldwide – partnering with leading automotive, construction, and agricultural equipment manufacturers.

Our portfolio ranges from mechanical to electrical compressors and includes Integrated Thermal Management Systems, designed to meet the demands of current and future vehicle architectures whilst supporting environmental sustainability and the evolution of the automotive industry.

A LEGACY OF INNOVATION

Founded in 1943 as Sankyo Electric Company by Kaihei Ushikubo, SANDEN began with dynamo bicycle lamps, earning a reputation for innovation and quality under its iconic owl trademark. The company soon expanded into home appliances, commercial refrigeration, and by 1970, automotive air conditioning compressors, introducing the game-changing scroll-type compressor. Over the decades, SANDEN grew globally, establishing offices and manufacturing hubs across Europe, the U.S., and Asia, becoming a leader in automotive compressors and vending systems while combining precision engineering with environmental responsibility.

EUROPEAN OPERATIONS

Sanden Europe is one of the leading providers of automotive components, focusing on compressor and air conditioning systems for vehicle air conditioners, compressor parts, and HVAC systems. Another crucial aspect of the company’s operations is research and development activities. Within this scope, the company offers contract research and development including testing services to customers and other companies.

Established in 1979 with the launch of Sanden International Europe in Basingstoke, UK, the company has since expanded its European footprint to four strategic locations: Germany (HQ), France, Poland, and the United Kingdom. This footprint ensures that Sanden delivers innovation, quality, and support across the European automotive market.
